Principal Investigator
Asefa Mekonnen, MD, FCCP, FAASM, is passionate about working closely with patients across the Rockville area to help them achieve optimal health. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Obesity Medicine, Dr. Mekonnen earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Addis Ababa University Faculty of Medicine in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, followed by a sleep medicine fellowship at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Mekonnen is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP).
