Kurt Brubaker studied microbiology at Michigan State University through the Lyman Briggs program. He went on to doctoral studies in anatomy/neurobiology at Colorado State University.
Following graduate school, Kurt spent two years at Northwestern University performing molecular biology/protein structure research before taking a position in 2001 at Inspire Pharmaceuticals. He spent five years lab at Inspire Pharmaceuticals in the drug discovery group before transitioning to clinical research. He worked in the Clinical Development organization for two years before joining the Ophthalmology Medical Affairs group in 2008.
While part of the Ophthalmology Medical Affairs group, Kurt focused on development of the scientific foundation, publication strategy, and design of Phase 4 studies. During this time, he expanded Inspire Pharmaceutical’s Intellectual Property portfolio for inflammatory ophthalmic conditions.
Kurt founded Bridge Over Brook in 2010 and has worked as a scientific consultant that time. In this position, he has partnered with pharmaceutical organizations across the ophthalmology segment, including B + L, Nicox, Shire, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Kala Pharmaceuticals, Novartis, and Santen Pharmaceutical.
Kurt joined the Clinical Operations group with Velocity Clinical Research in 2023 as the Manager for the Grants Pass (Oregon) site.
