Velocity has won the 2023 SCRS Excellence in Patient Centricity Award. The award was presented to the Velocity team at the 2023 Global Site Solutions Summit in Hollywood, FL.
This award recognizes an organization that has “proven its commitment to effective patient engagement by understanding clinical research from the patient perspective. Through the consideration of patient insights, the recipient of this award works tirelessly to produce healthcare solutions that are committed to enhanced patient experiences as well as an improved health-related quality of life.”
Velocity won the award for the launch and expansion of several key initiatives to improve patient engagement, retention, and community relations.
Elevating the Patient’s Voice: Velocity has formed a Participant Advisory Committee (PAC) that comprises a diverse group of more than a dozen current and former clinical trial participants. The PAC meets regularly to provide invaluable feedback, ideas, and guidance on new initiatives and ongoing operations.
Sharing the Patient’s Perspective: Velocity publishes key insights from PAC meetings and more online at https://velocityclinical.com/insights. In early 2023, Velocity published a whitepaper highlighting key takeaways from 9,000+ patient survey responses. Data was collected using a proprietary patient surveying and experience management system. The white paper can be read at https://velocityclinical.com/8-insights-from-9000-real-clinical-trial-participant-surveys/
Promoting Health Equity: To address the historical underrepresentation of certain communities in research studies, Velocity has taken proactive steps to ensure clinical trials are accessible to all. By developing tailored educational materials, such as BIPOC community-facing recruitment materials, Velocity is addressing the unique concerns and interests of minority communities. This approach fosters trust and emphasizes the potential benefits of clinical research for uplifting and advancing entire communities. Additionally, Velocity develops Spanish versions of outreach materials and has implemented companywide patient translation services to help ensure language is not a barrier to clinical trials.
#VelocityCares by Giving Back to Communities: By contributing to local charities and good causes, Velocity employees work beyond the clinic to create a positive impact on their communities. A paid Volunteer Time Off program and the annual #VelocityCaresDay showcase Velocity’s dedication to its communities, which also improves local engagement.
Thank you to SCRS, our patients, and our team for living our mission by providing exceptional care to our communities.
