    Principal Investigator
    With nearly four decades in practice as a physician, Anil V. Shah, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is an innovative leader in the field of cardiology. Dr. Shah cares for patients at Coastal Heart Medical Group, and partners with Velocity to conduct clinical research. After earning his medical degree from the Topiwala National Medical College in India, Dr. Shah completed his residency at the University Bombay Hospital. He then relocated to the United States to complete extensive cardiology fellowship training through the University of California, Los Angeles at the Wadsworth VA Medical Center. Dr. Shah went on to become board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease through the American Board of Internal Medicine. He also maintains his role as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, as well his position as a fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

    With his passion for preventive care and early intervention, Dr. Shah continues to stay active in research and the ever-changing field of cardiology. Dr. Shah has even been awarded multiple community leadership awards, including “Visionary of the Year” by community colleges in Orange County. Being fluent in English, Hindi, and Gujarati gives Dr. Shah the opportunity to communicate with patients who may otherwise struggle with language barriers. Patients of Dr. Shah commend his calm and caring bedside manner, and his ability to make his patients smile, even under the toughest of circumstances.
